Tuesday Aug 18 – half rest day, no afternoon schedule
Practice will contain form, push hands, sword (form and fencing), and da lu. Students who are unfamiliar with the da lu form will have an opportunity to learn it.
Practice Location:
Beach Lake Volunteer Fire Department, 25 Milanville Road, Beach Lake, Pennsylvania 18405
The Fire Department is a huge room right across the street from the Pine Grove Cottages. Beach Lake is a low-key farming/vacation area in eastern Pennsylvania, about 2 1/2 hours from NYC, reached via Route 17 or I-84 (see map).
Lodgings:
We have reserved 10 cabins at Pine
Grove Cottages in Beach Lake PA. Check in on Friday Aug 14, checkout Fri Aug 21. Cost is per-person, dependent upon final occupancy of the cabin.
Pine Grove Cottages is the friendly bungalow colony with lake, pool, boats, etc. where we had a fine time last year.
The cabins each have 2 bedrooms and a foldout couch,
thus accomodating potentially 5 people. Some of the bedrooms have twin beds, some have doubles.
So if you are willing to share a bedroom you can cut the cost of lodging. Please state your lodging preference when registering for the workshop.
In addition, there are a few hotels within walking distance of the practice space, and numerous B&B’s and campgrounds in the area.
Reservations:
Workshop price: $300. First payment of $100 due by June 1st, balance payable at the workshop. Please email lenny@longrivertaichi.org if you have any questions.
